For as long as I can remember, I’ve had this dream of one day having my own family and raising my children to love the outdoors as much as I do. There is just something about the idea of spending time with your children, teaching them about the outdoors and to appreciate the beauty of Gods creations that appeals to me. So when my wife and I welcomed our oldest son, Austin, into this crazy world, that dream became a possibility.
As the years passed, my son’s excitement for hunting started to grow, turning from innocent curiosity to a true interest, taking my dream from a possibility to a reality. In preparation for our first hunt together, I started spending more time visiting outdoor expos, reading numerous articles and searching hundreds of websites, determined to find the perfect blind. Something that would afford us with countless opportunities, possess the quality and durability to last and of course, living and hunting in Florida, we needed something that could withstand the heat and humidity or any element of the outdoors. However, no matter where my search lead me, I wasn’t able find a single blind that would meet our needs or expectations.
So I took my ideas for the blind to my brother, Tim, who is a licensed Contractor and has over 15 years of experience working with Aluminum. I knew that with his expertise this blind could come to life. As we started brainstorming different ways we could construct the blind, one thing was for certain, quality would not be compromised. We worked hand in hand perfecting the idea, finally building a blind that we could put to the test. The moment we took the blind to the field we realized that it was truly something different than anything else on the market, something that would benefit other hunters; taking their hunts to the next level. A blind that we know will hold timeless memories for lifetimes to come. It was at that moment Rugged Cross Blinds was born.
